SORA – Understanding SORA for BVLOS Operations (Webinar)
If you are wanting to operate your RPA within the BVLOS category, you will need to submit an application to CASA under the requirements of a Specific Operations Risk Assessment (SORA) - the JAR doc 06 SORA package.
The purpose of this introductory webinar is to provide you with an overview of JARUS as the principles of SORA and will cover all 10 steps:
- ConOps Description
- Determination of the UAS Intrinsic Ground Risk Class (GRC)
- Final GRC Determination
- Determination of the Initial Air Risk Class (ARC)
- Application of Strategic Mitigations to determine Residual ARC
- Tactical Mitigation Performance Requirements (TMPR) and Robustness Levels
- Final Specific Assurance and Integrity Levels (SAIL)
- Identification of Operational Safety Objectives (OSO)
- Adjacent Area/Airspace Considerations
- Comprehensive Safety Portfolio
Once you understand the SORA process, you will be able to plan your next BVLOS operation with ease.
CASA have released a number of Standard Scenarios, which reduce the initial SORA steps. We run dedicated webinars on understanding each of these scenarios and how to obtain your approval quickly and efficiently.
